Dr. Craig Wada

Dr. Wada is a specialty dentist with years of additional education and training beyond the standard four years of dental school. His specialty, prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics, is one of nine recognized specialties in dentistry. The other eight include the following: oral radiology, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, oral pathology, oral surgery and dental public health.
As a specialty dentist, Dr. Wada has almost twice the formal education of a general dentist. This translates to “expert level” dentistry and a comprehensive understanding and appreciation for each patient, their specific problems and individual needs. Common reasons for seeing a prosthodontist are: complex dental problems requiring complex integrated therapy and a “quarterback” to plan and oversee treatment, a long history of failed dentistry, and the repetitive need for more and more dentistry, year after year, without a clear end in sight. If you wish to be permanently stabilized by a master dentist trained to gently and expertly provide the care you need, call or have your dentist refer you to a prosthodontist. Doing things once and doing them right is always less expensive in the long run.

Dr. Wada received his doctorate of dental surgery and bachelor of dental science at the University of California, San Francisco, in 1988. After graduating dental school, he trained to become an expert in restorative dentistry and successfully completed the two-year, full-time prosthodontic residency, also at UCSF. In 1990, Dr. Wada continued his studies at UCLA and earned his maxillofacial prosthetics certification after successfully completing the one-year, full-time residency. After UCLA, he returned to Northern California, where he associated in two prosthodontic specialty practices located in the Sacramento and Roseville areas. respectively. Dr. Wada opened his own Roseville prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics private practice in 1993. Five years later, he moved this practice to Rocklin, where he continues to practice today. Dr. Wada has been active in the Sacramento dental community since 1992, donating time and finances to improve the quality of care for patients in Northern California. In 1993, he founded the Sacramento Academy for Advanced Dental Studies and continues teaching dentists as a member, instructor and cofounder of the Placer Dental Academy. Dr. Wada currently lives in Rocklin with his wife and three children.
